Not exactly,
Dodge used Letters to designate the year and the weight rating.
Starting in 1939, that year was given the letter T.
1940's were V
1941 was W, which possibly because of the War was continued until 1947.
1/2 tons were C
3/4 tons were D
1 tons were also D
Later just to keep us on our toes, the 1/2 and 3/4 tons were C's and the 1 tons D's.
So a TC was a 1939 1/2 ton, a TD could be either a 1939 3/4 ton or a 1939 1 ton, usually followed by a number code to help determine whether it was a 3/4 or 1 ton, such as TD 21, and a VD was a 1940 1 ton, or an unfortunate disease....= )
So a WC was both a 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton and a 41 to 47, isn't that easy....= )
It had nothing to do with military or civilian usage, as the Power Wagon was a WDX (1 ton crossover, the first crossover!!) and later they became WM300's, but they also shared the conventional bodies trucks codes a swell, such as, C-1 B-3 designations, just to keep us crazy....= )

Well, if I had a small fortune of cash stashed under my bed, I would consider it.
last time I checked though, there is nothing but dust mites down there ;o(
I'm sure that guy in Indiana would love to make a trip out west with two sold trucks on the trailer!
We will see...

You guys are talking about me again aren't you? LOL Yes two SOLD trucks would be nice headed anywhere right now. Even better would be 6 sold trucks but who's counting? I've got to stay close now that snow season is upon us, might be going out tonight.
