I've never managed to get even one of the six bracket setups to hold the longitudinal seats in the back of the closed cab half ton VC and WC pickups, and no-one seems to be reproducing them.
Anybody have them for sale? This is for the half tons, remember, not the 3/4 ton WCs which are being repro'd.

I'll take all the metalwork you have for the longitudinal seats. As I remember there are six identical bracket setups, so I'm happy to buy any you have. It would be good if you can e-mail an image to me so we know we are thinking the same.
We'll have to work together on postage / shipping / whatever, but we'll get to that. If you can get the brackets together and get a price - PAYPAL OK for the payment?

We where hit with 43 ft in last 2 days and should be having more all week. I will get some pictures of the seats to make sure we are on the same page. I know that the seats I have they will fit in 1962 and tried them in my 1969 1970 1971 and they work. I will try get some pictures of them for you. You only want the brackets and not the hole seat. I know the seat comes apart in 2 sections the back rest and the bottom part.

Thanks Rob, but the seat brackets I was looking for were 1940 and 1941, so they wont be the samme, but thanks for looking. They are even different to the 1942-45 brackets, so the ones you'll have will be much later.
Thanks anyway,
Gordon

The seats he's looking for are for VC and WC pickups.
NOT for Sweptlines.
Read twice, ship once!

You'll see the truck at that link, and the bed is visible about halfway down the page.
The 1939-47 pickups all had that bed, and most of the military ones had seats, one version for the open cab truck (transverse seats) and one version for the closed cab (longitudinal, along the bed sides)
There were wooden seats along the bed sides, on six pairs of steel brackets which allowed them to fold up when not in use. Unfortunately all the subsequent owners seem to have taken them off and binned them.
To complicate matters, they changed the seats for the 1943-45 military WC pickups - those are available as used and repro. it's the ones specific to the 1940 and 41 trucks that I need.
If you found just one pair of usable brackets on your travels I'd buy them, but I've been looking for a while and i've only ever seen pictures of one truck which had the original brackets.
I hoped that one of the repro people, like John Bizal at Midwest, would start making some, but no luck so far.
thanks for the thought.

I think they are quite scarce, but if you find any I'd be interested.
You would probably only find them in military 1941 closed cab pickups, they were in the 1940 trucks as well, but not many of those around, even in junkyards.

Hey Gordon, I'll check on my VD-20 parts truck for those brackets. It's in Rock Springs, so it may be a while getting over there to see.

I have a set but they aren't for sale. You may want to get a hold of Mark Jennings because he scrapped a 42 Dodge closed I believe or atleast sold me parts off of one.

Thanks, the hose brackets wouldn't have been on the VD 20 as they were for the military-only seats in the back of the half ton WCs & VCs
Probably not in a '42 either, as nearly all the '42 military production was 3/4 ton WC which had similar, but different, brackets.
I know it's a pain, but if it isn't in the back of a 1940 or 1941 military hard cab pickup it probably wont be right.

Can you take a good photo of one of them and either post it here or send it to me at Gordon@Dodge.org.uk please?
I'd be obliged as I don't even have a good photo of one set.

No problem, the truck is 67 years old and another little while won't hurt it, but a good photo or two would be very useful
