Does anyone know which PWA has the article about welding in a budd center section into a tubeless rim. I think Frank Irons wrote the article?

I didn't write an article for the PWA, but I can answer any question you may have.

Did you have to trim down the bud centers to fit into the new rim?
What size rim did you use?
      How wide is your rim?
What size tire are you running?
      What is your back spacing?

Rim size is 9.75 x 16.5, tire size 12.5 x 38 x 16.5 Interco Super Swamper, backspacing 8.5. I trued up the centers before installing. The PW centers are 14.125 diameter and are a tight fit in the rim. There are several styles of 16.5 rims. I used the DOT approved rims, some are for agriculture use only and are not DOT approved. This is a tubeless rim.

good info Frank. Interesting I have some info from MRW the rim shell I.D. on their 16 and 16.5 rim shells is 13.479. Some manufacturers use different sizes I guess.
