  • Oil pressure too high??

Since Jasper rebuilt the engine it's running near 80psi per the dash gauge.

I'm gonna check it with another gauge, and run a measured flow test (repair manual says supposed to be 2.5 GPM??) but is this high pressure suggesting something bad?

It's a new oil pump, low viscosity oil, and a full-flow fllter and new element.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Put a mechanical gauge on it before you spend too much time worrying...

Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

We sent a 218 engine back to George Ellis, in Ohio, a couple of months ago. He needed it for a WC that he is working on, and he also reported oil preasures on the 80 PSI range. I had never run into preasures that high in one of these engine, so I thought he had an "optimistic" gauge...interesting.
