  • tail lights

I would like some pictures of where the tail lights are to be located. Does any one know where to get some decent looking tail lights and rear signals. Thanks in advance.

There's plenty of options including reproduction tail lights. Look on Ebay. You can find some nice looking original glass taillights with the Dodge name on them, but they are getting pricey.

For an in between option, old Dodge truck tail lights (no Dodge name) and brackets are fairly available. You just have to look. You probably won't find the original FFPW tail light brackets which angle down from the truck. Most of the now available Dodge brackets come straight out from the truck.

But, this is an item that you can upgrade on your truck as you find better items. Tail lights with plastic lenses are cheap and will get you on the road sooner.

Probably, you should determine which brackets came with your truck originally. Some were just stamped out of sheet steel and some were cast iron. I prefer the cast iron brackets regardless of year. Make sure you check the spacing between the holes when you buy something.

As far as the location for taillights, they were attached to the forward side of the rearmost upright on the bed. There should be two 5/16" fine thread captive nuts, if you are lucky. These were often torn out when the taillight caught on something. Some trucks only have the captive nuts on one side.
