any tricks to getting the vent widow and the lock assembly out. Right now have trouble getting the lock assembly past the back widow guide and don't have a clue how the vent window comes out.

Somebody will be along shortly that can remember better than I.
The lock is dropped down to the bottom of the door, after the front lower glass channel is removed, to the spot weld. Then raise the arm and rotate assembly counterclockwise on the left door, clockwise on the right door out away from the window channel, between the inside door panel and the glass channel. Study it a bit and it will probably come to you.
Make sure all the screws are out of the vent including the screws that go through the
rubber weather strip. Pry the upper weather strip out of the top of the door so it clears the sliding glass channel.
Pull the upper part of the weather strip retainer toward the rear of the door while pushing the lower part of it toward the to front of the doorWDX & Misc. Pics.

Are you sure it,s not the rear window channel spot welds and do I just drill out the spot welds and when I put it back together replace spotwelds with screws. or do both channels have to come out. The front channel seams to be blocking the handle mechanism the rear channel blocks the lock mechanism. Also does the window want to be rolled up or down and does the window have to come out (baisically gutting the door)

The glass has to come out first, then lower the lock assembly down to the spot weld on the rear channel. Raise the arm up vertical.
Rotate the whole assembly as I said and it will come out around the channel towards the inner door panel.
Glad you got a subscription and manual.
They will help a lot.
Also don't be bashful about asking questions here.
We all had to learn, and are Still learning!

Taken from my shop manual:
To remove and install vertical sliding glass
1. Remove inside door handles
2. Remove trim panel
3. Remove 4 screws from the hinge side of the door panel, which hold the glass front run channel in place. Draw the channel down and out through the opening in the door panel.
4. Run the window all the way down and remove the stop screws in the glass lower channel and unhook the window lift rollers from the glass lower channel.
5. Remove the weatherstrip from the lower edge of the window opening.
6. Turn the door hinge side of the glass upward and lift the glass up and out of the window opening.
7. To remove the glass from the base or lower channel, pull it out of the channel.
Olgraybeard,
Removal of the glass is the easy part. When you get ready to re-install, get yourself as relaxed as possible before starting.

Removal of door ventilator assembly
1. Open ventilator to allow frame to be sprung to facilitate removal.
2. Remove metal screws which go through the rubber weatherstrip and retainer assembly.
3. Pry rubber weatherstrip retainer out of the top of the door so that it clears the sliding glass channel.
4. Pull upper part of weatherstrip retainer toward the rear of the door and at the same time push the lower part of it toward the front of the door and remove the ventilator glass, weatherstrip and retainer as an assembly.
