Actually Chewie, (not to split hairs) but 1939 1 tons were either TD-20 or TD-21 depending on which wheelbase the truck was on, and 1940 1 tons were either VD-20 or VD-21 also depending on which wheelbase. Dodge used the WD designation for 1 tons 1941-1947.

There are so many "poles" around here, I can understand how the German forces felt in September 1939 when they invaded Poland.

It's an OEM Flat Board support...

          Ffpw

Gordon's other poll does have an appropriate answer, you can't buy this kind of entertainment.
I feel comfortable using the FFPW shorthand label to describe any WDX-WM300 truck so it is not confused with a W series truck

There is no way to confuse a W with a WDX, the DX is the tip off... = )

Only when Dodge confused themselves with the W300M did they fall off the wagon... = )

              OEM or retro...

sorry Norm, I believer you are mistaken.... (heresy...) :> )

Cheyenne Dave's question was reasonable... but a fresh piece of finished lumber... not having a mil-spec olive drab finish is obviously of a
FIELD EXPEDIENT nature, developed by an improvisor in the Motor Pool.

Being the third owner of a 1943 WILLYS, ( UNCLE SAM, my dad, and myself), my dad had his '43 crated and shipped home from Casablanca in 1945.

i have never, in all of my searches of the nooks and crannies of the original FF, found that finished piece of lumber...or in surplus catalogs :> )

P.S. I wish my '43FF looked as good as the one pictured.

              maybe , this summer's project.
