  • Numbers stamped into frame

Whilst enjoying my day sandblasting the frame of my 1950 B-2,came across some numbers(no not the frame serial number, only the 8 and the 3 are visible, the rest is too pitted)just ahead of the rear wheel drivers side, visible on the frame if you are looking over the top leaf spring. The numbers are 127235.Any ideas what these numbers designate?

I believe it is the frame rail part number. Usually the left side numbers are odd and the right side even. Of course the whole assembly would carry a different part number. Sold my parts manual so I can't verify.

I have an original parts manual

My uncle gave me an original pars manual when I first bought My 56c3pw I could try to look up those #'s for you. My manual covers 1946 - 1956

It varies (as with most Dodge numbers!) Those numbers can be both the frame part number as found in the master parts catalog, or... in later trucks, around 1957 and newer, that number is the actual VIN number.
