took the axle out of the truck to do a rebuild and when i removed the long side the inner axle brass bushing came with the axle. do you think that a new bushing will stay in and not spin or do i have bigger problems

Your best bet is getting a new bushing and giving that a shot. It will likely be fine, as brass is softer than the steel the axle is made out of. Meaning that the axle was wearing the bushing out, instead of vice versa.Originally posted by 67 wrench View Post
Either way, you need to try that first and see what happens. If it fixes it, you just fixed it for cheap.
If it doesn't fix it, I would think that some solidly placed shims would do the trick.
