  • Front axle housing problem?

Tore down the front axle today and I may have a problem, but I'm not having luck finding specs to verify.

I pulled the inner axles out of the knuckles and the passenger side bushing came out with the axle. The driver side both the bushing and the oil seal came out with the shaft.

I've found the specs for the inside of the bushing and the outside of the axle but didn't see anything for the outside of the bushing or the inside of the axle housing.

Anyone know what I need to check and see if I have a problem with this axle housing?

    That's not uncommon.
Your lucky it came out easily.
Usually the new bushing and seal will fit fine.
Nice job so far on your truck!

You are one lucky son of a gun.
On my M37, It was a massive battle to get that bushing out, at least on the left side. The oil seals are usually pretty stubborn too.

However, keep in mind that because it came out so easily, be sure to check to see how tight the bushing fits back into the housing. If it spins freely, it needs replacing.

Either way, you REALLY got lucky on this one.
