  • When were Syncromesh Trannies Offered?

I'm researching FFPW's and have come across some conflicting information regarding the syncromesh transmission.

Is there a definitive date or serial number when this went into production?

I have seen that it was offered starting with the 1955 model. However, I have also seen it stated that it started in 1956 after serial no. 83949164?

So, was it an option in 1955 and Standard in 1956 after that serial?

    Anyone care to comment?

    Thanks!

According to the parts lists, 83949164 was the first serial number that used the syncromesh transmission. Very early 1956.
