I'm in the process of rebuilding my NP-420 transmission. Bearings, gaskets and the seal were easy to get for a good price from Transmission Exchange.
I was nervous about re-using the "C" clip that holds the clutch gear in place, so I wanted to find a new one. Thanks to a phone conversation with Charles Talbert, he sent me to Truck Parts Inc. in Charlotte NC for the "small parts kit" for a NP435. It seems the small parts kit for the NP435 has the snap rings in it for the NP420.

I called them up, they had one in stock, and it is on the way. My local transmission builder said if I could fine it someplace just buy it!
