Exhaust Color Question

Hello,

I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a '55 C-3-PW and are in the beginning stages of restoration. I got a new exhaust system for it and was wondering what the original color of the pipes and muffler were. The new muffler is bare metal but the pipe off the manifold is black. Thanks for the help in advance.

I believe they would have had what you term a bare metal color.

I can back this up...the '57 I work with has the "bare metal" color
