Its a 19,000 origional mile truck and every thing works is still 6 volt and starts right up.

It really is a time capsule. Did Balthaser's keep it inside all it's life?
I have a '47 also, but it has a 2nd series bed and a reman engine (most recent picture posted is in Michelin XML thread in Conversions and Modifications sub forum.) I am really beginning to consider taking it to the Vermont rally. I will have to trailer it if I go since I haven't registered it yet. Any chance you will be taking yours up?

Rally

Hey david, I read about that rally but dont know much about it. When is the date ? I dont currently have a trailer but I would love to go. Also the truck was kept in side, they started a plymouth dealership in 1921 and after WW2 they bought this for their wrecker and it was inside every night and also well maintained. There is a hang tag from 1965 when the anitfreeze was serviced and a champion spark plug sticker dated oct 1976 for a plug change, since that change only 1000 miles were put on the truck. Also when I got home with the truck I looked in the glove box and to my surprise was some very old match packs, a bandaide box of sheer pins and the owners manual for series WDX copyrighted from 1945.

I have been following the updates for the rally on the Events sub forum and apparently a web site is being prepared at this time. I believe the dates are 7/20-7/22. The day you bought your WDX you should have picked up a lottery ticket because your luck was certainly good that day.
