Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?
I'llI'll take one for the team and be an offensive know it all.
Many parts are listed in the Parts List with a notation such as "(up to serial No. XXXXXXXX)" and "(after serial No. XXXXXXXX)". Other notations include "small" and "large" reflecting an option that you have to identify.
I have more than $3,000 in reference books. I try to answer this kind of question for several reasons. We all look forward to seeing a “new” truck at Fairfield and want every Power Wagon guy or gal to succeed. But a more serious reason I try to help is so you folks who don’t have a Parts List will not be cheated by that guy on e-bay who will try to sell you something you don't need and can't use. He assures you that his part will fit every vehicle ever made in every country in every year. Oh, yes… his part is in perfect condition.
I hope you are not offended by this know-it-all asking for more information to clarify your question. You really need the serial number to identify the correct part nomenclature and part number. I suggest you include it in your question. Because many Power Wagons have been repowered with other MOPAR flat head six motors, it is also a good idea to include the engine number. Many engine accessories are different on a Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, or Chrysler car.
Paul, the team thanks you. You just hit it out of the park. But if you ever feel the need for a pinch hitter, just let us know. I, for one, would be honored to step up to the plate for you and you can be assured I would give it the old college try on your behalf.
The main parts tht I would be using off the truck are the window hard ware and the power wagon emblems but when I contacted the guy he said tht the power wagon emblems changed between 1954 and 1966 so how much did they change would it be hard to make them fit my truck ? And would the window hardware still work ?
I don't think the mounting hole spacing changed on the hood, so the emblems should work. Others will confirm.
Window mechanisms should work, unless they differ in one being wing vent and one not, but they would still interchange. Handles may look different, but work.

But even if the spacing was different couldn't I just make different mounting holes for them to fit in ?
I have never drilled a hole in a Power Wagon that I did not later regret. But that is up to you. About the time you drill holes to make something work that is not original to the truck, the original parts will show up. This IS a roundabout method that seems assure I find the correct parts I am looking for, but do you really want extra holes?
