  • Axle ratios

    Hello

What would the axle ratios be on a 1953 B4PW -126, the flat fender PW is new to me and I am devoid of any info at the moment.

    Thank you in anticipation

Thank you, is there a way to define this without going through the usual pinion/ ring gear or input shaft to wheel rotation counting?

There supposed to be stamped on the differential case bottom under the pinion.
They are very lightly stamped and hard to see.

Chalk the tire sidewall at the bottom and chalk u-joint end cap.
Roll the truck forward one revolution of the tire while someone counts the turn the drive shaft makes. 5.83 would be almost 6 turns. 4,89 would be almost 5 turns.
You cannot jack up one wheel to do this because the differential axle gears will increase the number of turn the drive shaft makes.
You have to roll the truck.
