  • Whatzit?

I just acquired a sort of FFPW from a mining operation in New Mexico. It's pretty rough. A friend found it, sent a bunch of pictures, the price was right so I bought it, hauled it home (central Texas) and am trying to identify what I have. The data plate decodes to a 1955 C-3-PW. The engine code, though, is T214, which I understand is for a 1942-45 WC 3/4 ton. The electrics have been converted to 12v with a Delco alternator. I haven't identified the coil yet. I know that all the 230's are basically the same and I think I can find the appropriate documentation. My first question is how can I tell if the transmission is original or is from a T214 or are they the same? I'm trying to id everything before I tackle getting it running. I am attaching a couple of shots of the engine.

Tom, I checked the link to T137 and it looks like, underneath about 1/2" of gunk, I have a transmission that goes with a T137 not a T214. Thanks for the link.
