NEED Info regards WDX specs on towing curb weight etc

HI all

recent member and on the way to be owner of a dodge power wagon the specs are as follows

dodge wdx
petrol believed to be 230
np420 geard box
np200
5.83:1 gearing
pto winch
full bed

was wondering what curb weight would be?

and towing capacity on a break trailer?

Check Door Tag for Vehicles Max GVW Rating, it varies by year.
My truck with winch and the 230 (with out driver and an empty bed) is about 5,600 lbs.

but the biggest one for me is for example? can it tow 3 tones braked on a trialer

I think you will find that that it is not practical to tow a trailer of any significant weight for highway use. You are only dealing with about 100 horsepower for a vehicle weighing close to 6000 lbs.

Probably, they were 1-ton rated trucks in their day. Mine was modified to be a wrecker with heavier springs and a rear PTO winch. Id guess from the abuse it did some heavy loads.

However the thing to remember is these trucks are the tortoise, not the hare. It does 50 with a tail wind, it's not going to improve with 6000 lbs behind it.

the reason i ask in nsw a state of Australia a braked weight must be given if the vehicle wishes to use a beaked trailer

so for example

a 1979 f100 4x4 351 manual 4 speed
can tow
750kg un braked
3 tones braked

so for me to pull a braked trailer i have to tell them what it can pull from manafacuter?

i know that speed not its fort-ay but still require info or i have to lose the ability to tow with it as it is not a common registered vehicle, wich means they can contact the manufacturer for detail.

this applies for all vehicles

Can we see some pics of the truck mate? Where in nsw are you, I'm just down on the vic/nsw border and have a 57 power wagon. I can't help you with braked weights but these things really are slow, cruising speed of about 60km, a 3 tonne trailer will see you more like about 45 to 50 I'd reckon. These girls will pull anything and climb anything but not quickly.

Looks to be a really nice original truck mate, seems a shame to cut it up. There weren't many right hand drives made, only a handful left now.
