I found a set of custom wheels for sale. They are flat centers with 18 inch rims. They have old military non directional tires on them now. Would the 18" wheel be a good choice? Are there affordable options for new tires. I've seen this type of wheels in pictures but, I don't know enough to decide whether to get them. Jim

17 and 18's are some of the more common sizes now. A quick search of 4x4 tires will show lots of options. Affordable is a different animal as you're never going to find a really cheap tire in the size you want to run on a Power Wagon for $100, but you will have a lot more options.
Best bet is to look at a few sites that carry truck tires, they'll usually let you search by rim size. You'll want an overall size of at least 34" to equal the 9x16s that were stock, see if you like your options and prices, just don't expect big tires to be cheap.
