wdx throttle linkage

Hello, Does someone happen to have a pic or a diagram that they can post of the throttle linkage from the fire wall to the carb. I have a 47 wdx with a carter ball and ball carb and original motor. Dont know if Prev. owner reengineered or modified what was OEM. Tried to post a pic of what I have, but can't.

Throttle cable or rod type?

It's the rod type with hand throttle on dash. The portion i'm concerned with is where it is mounted to the manifold and rod connects to carb. manual choke w/cable

Tom, Thanks for the replies. What carb is that in the pic? The linkage on my carb is coming the manifold 90 degrees off of the pic you posted. I wish I could post a pic of it. Is the carter ball and ball original?

That is the original Carter ET4 Ball&Ball for the 47 WDX.
It's possible someone install a car engine in your truck.?
The engine number should start with T-137 if it's correct.
Also there are several guy's on here that know more than I and hopefully will chime in.
Later truck engines in the fifties used different Carter carbs and with the linkage I suspect your talking about. Could be that?

Also trucks that had the rear PTO have the rod type throttle with the ratchet knob.
All others I believe got a standard throttle cable type.

Finally, can't get pic to rotate but hope this helps. My concern is the rod from linkage to carb. Just wondering how it is supposed to be, as you can see this one has been reengineered.

Some of that is factory and the throttle rod slip arm looks home made or modified.
Hard to tell.
So are you trying to figure out the throttle pedal or the hand throttle?
Hopefully I straighten out your pic.

I'd like to clean it up a bit with some unmodified linkage if i could find some. Everything seems to work just some slop in the slip pin hole.
The motor s/n T137-7536 . It has the the ratchet hand throttle...winch no rear PTO. Just wondering if the linkage in the pic (with the brazing)would be availible... or what is the correct name for the part

Check with Vintage or other parts suppliers for used throttle parts.
I doubt there are anything new, but won't hurt to ask.
The part that has been brazed is called the bell crank. The part
You have removed that the hand throttle rod connects to is called lever.
Both parts have different part numbers depending on serial and engine numbers. Meaning they changed some over the years.
Also try the Parts wanted section here. Might get lucky.

in your first set of pictures, what is the black canister mounted to your firewall near your heater connections? An overflow tank of some sort?

Don't have that on my truck and just wondering

Yes, that is the Optional overflow tank.

The illustration came out of an early parts manual. Sometime between 1947 and 1953 Dodge redesigned the linkage. Yours appears to be the early style, although possibly modified. My current parts book is from 1953, and matches my truck.
