  • Hand brake

    Any one ever replace or rebuild the button on top of the hand/parking brake. Mine is broke off and I can pull out the spring with my fingers. How does the top button attach to the rod?

    If memory serves, the button threads on.

        Oh hey Frank!

        I think you are right. My manual is up at the shop, and it has been awhile since I had one apart. I bet the shaft broke off where the knob was pinned. Same type of failure seen on throttle linkages, where the springs are pinned with cotter pins...

          Yes, there's a pin that goes through the button and the rod.
