I have replaced the hoses on my 55PW but I cannot keep the upper hose from leaking. the problem is that the neck is very corroded and pitted so no matter how much I tighten the hose clamp it still leaks. what sealant can be used between the outlet and the hose?
Also what sealant does everyone use on the thermostat housing gasket.
    thanks

Permatex pipe thread sealant. It may be called Locktite now. The two companies apparently merged. It is black, thinner than tar, but just as sticky. I use it everywhere I want to seal liquids. I had the same problem with the neck on my thermostat housing. Sanded it the best I could and daubed some of the Permatex pip thread sealant on. Good as new.

Gave it a try Clint, and so far no leaks!
