  • Water pump question

If my water pump is dripping from what looks like behind the pulley, is it bad? Can it be rebuilt?

    Water pump is shot.
There are replacements out there, but you will need to
    Be more specific on year,model,engine.

There are also kits from VPW and others depending again on what pump you
    Have.

I would just replace it and be done with it.

In water pump parlance, that's called "The Tell".

          Water pump grease

Is there a specific grease that should be used with the water pump ? My 47 WDX 230 pump has a zerk fitting.

I haven't needed it in a long time because newer replacement water pumps for these engines typically come without grease fittings, but there used to be a specific grease made for water pumps and boat trailer wheel bearings, and I used to get it at most auto parts stores. I assume it's still available. A few squirts at the interval stated in the maintenance manual, and it's good to go.
