  • Anyone Put pickup box on power wagon?

Has anyone put a late 40's dodge pickup box on a power wagon? I understand the pw box is unique only to these trucks but will a regular dodge pickup box fit at all? Or has anyone modified one to fit?

What are dimensions of a correct box for a 2nd series pw?

I found this one for sale but wonder how much work it would be to fit.

Do a search on here, there is all sorts of dimensional info posted here and on the web. From a visual, that looks too short.

I think you will find this is where the wheel base comes into play. The wheel wells, i believe, are not in the right location, in addition to the box being a different length.

I should take a measurement or two...

Weren't the 3rd series beds the same ones used on the D/W Series trucks of the 60's & 70's step side trucks?
        I drive a DODGE, not a ram!

        Thanks,

Todd...I mean Spence...found one of those later stepside beds, and if I remember correctly, he discovered that the wheel well is about 3-inches off from where it would be located on a WDX-WM300 power-Wagon.

If I did this right here is a picture of my friend Keith's truck. It has a conventional 8' pick-up bed mounted. He removed the big bulky stepside fenders and replaced with PW fenders. Fits just fine.
