windshield frame

hey guys this is probably a dumb question but the windshield frame is 2 pieces correct? take the screws out on the back side then glass and gaskets should come off? most of the screw heads were stripped on my so I had to drill the heads off but I cant seem to separate the 2 to get the broken glass out

You should have 4 screws on each side and yes they can be nearly impossible to remove. Both halves of the windshield frame are attached by this connector piece which is inside the frame. It's probably also very rusted and will need some encouragement to come out. I just grabbed a stock photo from the web.

got it figured out . I was trying to separate the frame as a front half and back half not as a top half and bottom half
