  • Wheel colors

I have a 1958 W300M. I want to get the stock wheels powder coated and need to know what the original color would have been, also the original color of the split ring.
Also what would the original color be of a combat wheel?
    thanks,
    Geo

Original truck wheels were black with bare cadmium plated lock
    Rings and lug nuts.

Some Special order trucks fire etc. were body color.

I opted to paint mine body color myself.

Here is a Color Guide Todd put together years ago.

Silver powdercoat or paint is a reasonable match to cadmium

              Cadmium

Cadmium is a duller shade of zinc plating.

I would use paint so that it is easier to touch up.

They came out great! Black with silver rings. Look brand new. I mounted some new Michelin XL 9.00x16 tires on them.
I need to get another split rim though for a spare. I took the spare off and turned it around and it was a combat wheel.

That's great you're pleased with them. I just bought my first WM300 yesterday and up next is new tires and brakes. I want to have the wheels powder coated silver and black and wondering what that may cost. As for brakes, I'll be trouble shooting to find out why the pedal goes to the floor with no effect. Parking brake works though.
