Welcome Nate.
The engine number is the only number I'm aware of
That can be traced to a specific truck.
On the front left corner of the engine block, right below
The head is a raised "pad" with the number stamped on it.
Should begin with T-137 xxxxx for trucks 1946 to 1957
Then they changed.
A copy of the build card available from Chrysler is the only
Way I know of to verify.
Only certain years of trucks are available though.
You don't say what year were dealing with.

If your engine starts with T-137 as I mentioned your probably
Correct to assume you have an original engine.
So many of these trucks had engines replaced over the years with
Anything from a forklift to a passenger car numerous times.

You may find, in taking things apart, little anomalies that will give you clues to if its original or not. If you happen to find a truck with every part as it came from the factory you have a gem. Not many of those out there. In taking mine apart I think mine may have been in an accident at some point in its life. A few of my front end body parts had other colors underneath the paint when I started stripping it down and one of the front frame rails had a little odd shape to it compared to the other side.
