Steering box oil

Does the oil used in a steering box for a 47 need to be a GL-4 spec and not GL-5 ?

I’ve read that GL4 does not attack bronze which I know is in the winch, not sure about steering box.
I use GL4 for the transfer case and winch. It would work well in the steering box too, but I have used John Dere Coen Head Gease for many years in my box bEcause it dies not leak out, and seems to work well. When cool it becomes semi solid, then liquifies when hot.
Car Quest sells a 90 weight GL 4 under the name Bravo.
