Head gasket sealer?

Hello Gentlemen I am getting close to putting the head on my PW engine and I have a Fel-Pro gasket set so I was reading the instructions pertaining to the head gasket and they want a sealer put on both sides of the head gasket prior to install. My first thought is I have put heads a lots of engines and have NEVER heard of a sealer that goes on the gasket before? OK guys what the heck kind of head gasket sealer do I use, whats it called, and how do I apply it to the gasket? Sorry for sounding ignorant about this but in reality I truly am! Any thoughts or suggestions would sure be appreciated!!

I've always used K&W Coppercoat on the engines I have rebuilt. Spray on and let it get tacky and install.
