    Kevin,
Good news. Maybe justice will be served in some meaningful way.
BTW, did you get my picture of the firewall pad?

Both are pitifully slow, but the powerwagon has the ability to travel in a straight line while our justice system seems to only go in circles.

Hah, you beat me to it. I was going to say they were both slow, but PWs are a heck of a lot more reliable!

          sorry for your loss

          I live in rural Idaho
This kind of crap happens here also. I grew up with guns. Have owned quite a few. I have used them for sparrows, ground hogs, deer, elk, bear targets, etc. but could never subscribe to assult weapons. Never could appreciate their value.
After reading what happened to you, I HAVE CHANGED MY MIND.

The metal thief's arraignment was April 20. I have not heard anything since.

They are arranging some plea agreement and that date just got changed. At some point in this process I get to voice my opinion to the court. They will let me know.

The thief plead guilty to a felony. Part of his sentence was drug counseling. I don't know if that is standard procedure or if that is what he blamed his problems on. Another part of his sentencing was restitution. I submitted the cost of replacement parts from VPW but didn't think I'd get water out of a stone.

Yesterday I got a big surprise. A check in the mail for over $2600.00 from the county clerk. I was expecting payments or nothing at all so this made me very happy.

I was very pleased in the way the Michigan State Police handled their end of this and the court system did its job. It wasn't fast but in the end things turned out right.

That is great news! It sure did take long enough though.

Everyone involved should be commended, including you for getting the chain in motion. If you had not taken the initiative to pursue the matter no justice could have been done. I think too often people just accept their loss and the thieves go about their business unbothered.

                              theft

Many years ago, someone was stealing my firewood from a lot I was clearing. I hallowed one piece and placed a low-yield pipe bomb in it which was eventually stolen. Of course, I wasn't too far out of VietNam then, but I never had any more problems with missing firewood.
