79 Power Wagon - How to remove driver's door glass

I have tried without luck to remove the drivers door glass. I am going to install new weather stripping but I cannot get the glass loose from the bottom fitting. I have the factory shop manual, but no pearl of wisdom exist in there. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for any help, Nathan

Welcome! Are you having trouble getting the glass out of the door? or do you have it out and want to seperate it from the metal strip that it sits upon?

I cannot get it to budge from the metal holder which it sits. I have thought of using a heat gun, but I have not tried yet. I just don't want to bust the glass.

well if you indeed have a FSM your not reading it / you hafta remove the VENT window and track before the glass will slide forwards on the rollers to release the glass from the window Reg / then it comes out REAL easy

You are right on both accounts (missing it in the manual & popping the vent glass channel out to get the glass out) It took some work but I got it out. Now to install new weather stripping. Thanks for your help.
