  • '75 W300 rear end question

Trying to find out what rear end would of been in this truck originally? Has 360 engine, D60 front 4.88, 4-speed, NP203. When I bought it it had a D70HD in it but out of Chevy (wrong ratio as front,no frt. drive shaft).
    Thanks for any help

Probably a Dana 70. Dodge version of course.

      '75 W300 rear end question

Appreciate the info 712edf, I'm trying to find the correct rear end that already has the same gear ratio as front, but not having any luck as yet. I would like to keep the D70HD but gears are 3.73, If anyone would have a D70HD carrier for the 4.88 gears I would be interested in buying, locker would be great.
      Thanks

The Dana 70 rear was in W300's beginning way in the 60's, maybe even late 50's, and back then 4.88 was the most common ratio, BUT axle spline count may have been different, not sure. Also W300 were 6 lug Budd style til around 68 when they went to the 8-lug wheel we are more familar with....4.88's became less & less common in the early 70's.
