Annoying leaks

Anyone ever had a waterneck that wouldn't seal up with rtv and a gasket? I'm about to try a nice billet one with a o-ring seal.

The fancy chrome ones always leak. The stock ones don't if everything is dry before you assemble and the RTV is allowed to cure before coolant is added. Also I once had the thermostat on the wrong side of the gasket (can't remember which kinda vehicle), big mistake!

Well I used a lot more of RTV and a new gasket. 1/4 inch. Let it cure 30 minutes before laying the new gaskey down then cranking down on the bolts pretty good. Hopefully that's the end of it. I really need to pressure wash the whole engine compartment!
