I think an old cripple D350 chassis cab w/flatbed may be coming up for sale. Not much of a truck but I always wanted a Dodge Dually / pickup box. Chassis cab have 135 wb pickup box models are 131wb. So, what is the best way to tackle this, move rear axle up or design someting to fill in 4" between the box & the cab? Always wanted a a dually like I said older the better & it's nearby

If the hangers are riveted on I'd probably just drill out the rivets and move the hangers. Just use grade 8 bolts, and make sure its all square. Measure, measure, and measure again.

I've seen this on two different trucks. The first was a plow truck in MI when I was in the Coast Guard, the second was mine. Seems the truck outfitters would put the standard pickup box on the rig with the gap between the box and cab. looks kinda different but not two bad. The one I owned was an ex gas company truck. It was a 1980 power wagon 4x4 with a 360 and four speed. It was without a doupt the toughest truck I have ever seen. It had a massive reinforcement built onto the frame that went from the center of the engine clear back to the front rear spring perches, and it was a factory option not a hodgepodge add on. Also one other thing, do you have a wide track dana 70 rear diff or narrow? They offered both in the chassis cabs. The bed inner fenders wont clear a narrow track.

On the wide track differential the inner tires set at the same width as a single wheel pickup. On the narrow track the inner tires are right up close to the springs.
