What is the horse power of 1983 W-350 5.9 ltr 4 bbl (federal) engine without catalytic convertor?

Amazingly none of the literature that I still have gives any horsepower/torque specifications.

My guess would be 160-180hp net.

My guess was also less than 200hp and around 250-300ft/lbs torque. Why doesn't it have a cat? Thought they all had them after a certain year and under a certain gvw.

Greg, I think the cat of my W-350 was removed in France and the truck sent to Africa because it is very difficult to find unleaded gasoline in Africa. Emission control is non-existent here! However, the Dodge factory sticker on the underside of the hood specifies that this vehicle has no cat.

The closest year model that I can readily find info about is 1980, which shows that years 360 4 barrel at 165 hp.
