How to check for a bent frame?'75 clubcab took a ditch turn,no one hurt but poor CC (teenagers!@##$).Measured from the rear axles hubs to front wheel centers.Right front back about an inch.Like to be sure before I start parting.

    Frame measurements

You did not measure the frame. You measured at the wheels. The results of the way you measured might indicate the rear axle moved on the spring or other movements in the suspension. The frame might be okay.

A frame alignment shop can measure the frame itself and usually can straighten the frame.

Before I went nuts (if it was my truck), I'd just measure frame width in a few different spots using a triangulation style method. For example, measure from the right rear fore spring hanger to the left rear aft hanger then compare that to the opposite; right rear aft to left rear fore. Do the same around the trans cross member and then again up front like around the bumper area to the motor cross member. If you get the same measurements at each area then I'd assume the frame didn't sustain any damage. I would probably think of an error margin of plus or minus 1/4".

I'd tend to agree with Paul and DB. Most likely you've got a suspension problem.

Well, the rear axle is where it's supposed to be.But,the heater box is crushed, the passenger side door is buckled outward, the pass side CUMMIN's spec motor mount is shredded, the bed to cab gap on the drivers side is less than an inch and the pass side gap is 3",the steering wheel is 90 degrees off and HE DROVE IT HOME.I going to play Taps and call it a day.
