  • power fluctuation ?

74 power wagon w/ 360. Having a power fluctuation. I have grounda all over the place. I even tried a jacobs ignition and that had no effect. The head lights and dash lights fluctuate. WHAT DO YOU THINK COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Well, I can tell you this. I have had the same problem for years and in that time I have replaced the ALT, Voltage regulator, checked all grounds and even replaced some of the wiring, including bypassing the firewall connector for the 10ga. wires that go to the amp gage, I have also double checked the curb idle and altho these things have made it better, I still get a slight fluctuation.

        Ground

Have you made sure the body is grounded to the frame?

Pulsating lights = bad ground or bad voltage regulator or bad diode in alternator.
