Help!!!

I have a 1979 power wagon 360. My problem is this. It stall out with out warning!!! it has gotten progressively worse too. fuel pump was checked and its ok. timing is ok. the lights, and engine just cut out. no warning. no putting, nothing. any ideas?

p.s. it takes a while to warm up to get full power out of it. i was told it was the electric choke needs to be replaced or adjusted. if that helps at all. its like there is someone taking the cord out of the coil. it starts right up when i pull over and restart.

Try replacing the ballast resistor. Common problem

After that

If that does not cure it wiggle the fusible link.

Usually they will fail outright, but I had one that would fail only if you touched it just right; sometimes they can get flaky.
