wiring ??

Ok imagine there is no wiring at all in your truck, and you want to wire your alt with the external regulator as a stand alone system with a voltage guage (not amps).

Any ideas, diagrams, pictures?
Maybe I'm just over thinking it, I will have to go look over my wiring more this weekend.
