  • Electronic control unit melts

    Hey,

Have a 77 200 that keeps slowly melting the ECU. The gel in the back of the ECU melts slowly about every 1000 miles. Have verified grounding and replaced ballast resistor and coil. The charging voltage at battery is 14.5v @ idle. Any idea's?

Anyone swapped the system for something like an MSD?

    Thanks,
    78 and 77 powers

I agree with DODGEBOYS. You say you have 14.5 volts at idle. What do you have at battery at 2000 RPM.
