heater blower is old and grumpy

my heater blower on my 72 w200 only works sometimes... less and less, it hasnt worked for some time now. common problem? any pointers? havent ripped it apart yet, from what i can see nothing looks wrong.

Maybe I can help. I speak Jive. :) What he is saying is to replace the fan switch, as it is usually the problem, especially since the switch is 39 years old.

It may the the blower also. It may have bad spots that the brushes are not making contact all the time. A good door slam or bump in the road will jar it enough to work. There is no fix for that, just replace. I would definately check the switch first though.
