Does anybody know if I put the two field wires wrong (red and green) on the alternator could that cause the red wire to blow out in five different places on the harness? I was also cleaning the diode on the alternator where I connected the red, maybe I screwed it up. Is that more likely? It was a pretty major meltdown, and when I re-did that part of the wiring harness, of course it was total overkill with the electrical tape. Do you think I could have wrecked the voltage regulator, ignition module, or the ballast resistor? Thanks! Just to clarify, it's a '77 3/4 ton W200 Powerwagon, thanks!
