  • need help to pass the smog on my 1983 W150

    hello guys and gals.......
I have a 1983 W150 with 318 2 bbl. I took it to have a smog check and it failed saying "gross polluter" the reading on smog inspection report but it passed last year. I needed the smog cert. to complete the transfer to me as i am new owner. The engine is stock, all smog parts still on the truck as i think it has over 220,000 miles on it and starts right up,runs pretty good for its age. I live in northern calfornia and trying to get it to pass so i can get my tags. They already charged me 36.75 dollars for the smog check and 12.50 to adjust the carb but waived the 12.50. They wanted 342 dollars plus tax to install the oxygen sensor and water thermostat. This station is a "gold shield" the only one in the city of Chico. I don't know if they are trying to screw me or not. Is there someone in that area that can help me find smog station that will pass me and not screw me over. The tags expires in march 2012. See the photos of the inspection report, repair invoice and 2 manual reading mode sheets. The smog check was done few days ago and i love my truck, its my baby. Please can someone help?, I WILL pay whatever it needs to be done to pass.

      seafoam may help

I run seafoam through my vehicles a few days before I go through inspection. I dont know how or why it works( maybe another forum member can explain that) but Ive always passed NJ emmissions. what i do notice is that the idle settles down right away and throttle response improves. you can find how to videos on youtube. do it on a windy day.

        remove that invoice image

way too much personal info on it. I have never had a problem here at PWA, but the web is the web. delete that post. perhaps gordon will see this and take it down for you

              why

identity theft. you have posted your name, address, phone #, license plate#, vin # ,and a sample of your signature, and when you get paid. fortunately you made this mistake here where the dirtbag factor is very low.

                remove/edit

go to the post that has the yellow invoice. lower right hand corner has an edit button. hit/click that button and follow the directions.

                            you're welcome

on the bright side, if I had to pick a place on the web to have that mistake occour it would be here on the PWA forums. The character of the members of on this forum is exceptional. think of it as dropping your wallet in church. now lets get back to that smog issue. I'm interested to hear members opinions and laymens term explanation of sea foam and how/why it works.
