How "easy" is it to change a "regular" rear window to a slider?
I bought a sliding rear window when the Dodge Brothers charter dealer closed in Lakeview MI-they had an auction, and I was wanting to put it in my 1983 Ram D150 Royal for more air circulation
I am sure it will need a new window rubber after 29 years

It has been about 37 years now, but I replaced a fixed window with a slider in a '75 PW. It wasn't hard. Of course the rubber gasket was new then. A lot of guys in my Chrysler 300 Club say that there is no need to replace a window gasket in most instances (it's hard to find window gaskets for most of those older Mopars, anyway). They say to put it in a bucket of GoJo hand cleaner (not the pumice kind but the smooth kind) and let it soak for 24 hours. After that, pull it out and wipe it off with a rag and it will be as soft and supple as a new gasket. Doesn't cost much to try it out. Let me know if you do...I'll be interested in knowing how well it works with your truck. Found this video that might help you out, too.
