I thought about this on my way to work this morning. If you want to see what it is like to have your transfer case converted, on a temporary basis, then take out your front drive shaft, pull your case lever to the "lock" position and drive it. This will not hurt anything and will allow you to see the difference, if any. Drive it for a week or so and make notes. It is YOUR truck, do with it what YOU want. Please value all the opinions on this site, we are all here because of the passion that we have for these trucks.

Stock was 16.5", not sure of tire size though. I have 7.50X16 on mine now.

Dont waste your time with the conversion. It costs more than you will ever recover in fuel costs. There are things that can improve mileage such as taller tires (to lower overall gear ratio) or do some tuning on your engine. Make sure your brakes don't drag excessively either. I am putting a set of BFG M/T 255/85R16 tires on that have an overall rolling diameter of 33.3" but there are taller ones out there such as military tires but be aware they are heavier and will destroy mileage, not improve it. Most of them are bias ply which will definitely mess up your mileage. I am trying a Rochester Quadrajet carb on my 400 to see what happens as they have tiny primaries and that should improve mileage. I had one on this engine before but can't remember what the mileage was like. Anyways, keep the full time, imo.

Well....I am lost here! I thought someone posted about info for what manual pedal set I would need to swap in the NV4500 into this rig. I thought someone said I would need to find a Dodge truck 97 or 98-200?? Well, I did find a 1997 Dodge 2500 truck with the pedal set, hydraulic clutch still in the truck. The truck even has the drivetrain also (5 speed). Would this trucks parts work for this swap, and if so, what all would I need to pull exactly?? Thanks in advance
