  • Research Resources?

I just picked up a 1980 W200 that appears to have military lineage as evidenced by government data plate, gov milspec rustproofing labels, and some navy gray paint under the fire truck red.

It's certainly not an M880 since it has a 360 and a 4spd and appears to have originally been painted gray.

Just a random truck purchased by the Navy for utility use? Anyone aware of a way to look up the contract #?

Include my web site in your research resources.

You didn't include any information from your data plate. Army? Navy? Air Force? Department of Agriculture? Forestry Service?

Many military and government agencies procured civilian motor vehicles.

Click on this link to learn about the difference between "administrative" and "tactical" vehicle procurement by the Army. The other military branches would have been similar.
