I have a 79 w150 Macho Power Wagon 318, well it doesn't start. I've had this before it spins well but no fire. Poured gas in the carb, no nothing. Seems like it had a hint of firing as I dropped the key still nothing. Switched ballast resistor with another I had in my console no nothing IDEAS please

How did you fix it last time?
You say it seems like it tries to fire when you let go of the key?1951 B-3 Delux Cab, Braden Winch, 9.00 Power Kings

If it truly tried as the key passed from start to run, that suggests the ballast resister circuit is open. That could be either the resistor itself, or some other part of the circuit. Perhaps try it with battery voltage to the battery side of the coil as a test.Power Wagon Advertiser monthly magazine, editor & publisher.
Why is it that the inside of old truck cabs smell so good?

Mine was doing that a while back. I eventually tracked it down to the distributer. It had come apart inside.1951 B-3 Delux Cab, Braden Winch, 9.00 Power Kings
