  • Plastidip! Anybody seen this or done this?

I was surfing around today looking at vehicle wrapping as an alternative to painting my truck when I hit this. I am intrigued and curious if anyone here has tried it and what was the result? It is quick, easy to apply, cheap and supposedly durable. Best of all if you don't like it, you can peel it off. Surface prep is basically washing it before you spray it with a turbine sprayer. I may have to give it a try. Perhaps an idea for an article for your magazine Gordon? Check it out.

And this seems to be the go to guy for the supplies.

On the diesel forums I frequent some of the guys have done it. Mostly like just the grill or mirrors though. I don't think it stands up to much abuse like limbs, gravel, etc.

      Plastidip

I dipped the chains that support the tailgate in the Plastidip to keep them from scratching the paint on the tailgate when they swayed back and forth. The original rubber coating on them had disintegrated. So far, it has worked very well. It's been on there about 2 years now.
