  • `73 Sweptline?

Hope I added that pic link properly.
I didn't realize the Sweptline name continued into the `72 on up models.

I just noticed on a truck I was parting out D100 longbed the underhood sticker named it as a GH4 cab & Sweptline and wanted to ask about it.

    Swepties

Good question. I am often confused by the use of the term Sweptline. The term seems to be used to describe the entire truck as a style from 1961-71 but the catalogs seem to just use the term to describe the bed/body style. Thus the consistency with the term Utiline.
I am sure there are more knowledgeable historians on board.

Yep that's it. Wide beds were called Sweptline from 61 til 93. The term comes from the swooping bodyline that was used on 61-71 widebeds.

The utiline term was used in reference to the narrow beds until their discontinuation after the 85 model year.
