Clockspring on late model Ram

Has anyone here replaced the clockspring behind the steering wheel on a late model Ram? Mine has failed. I have lost the cruise control and the steering wheel controls for the radio, but it has not yet started the air bag warning light, and fortunately has not started honking the horn, either.... apparently another possible symptom.

Apparently there are different versions of the spring, and it requires pulling the steering wheel off the shaft.

I was curious to see if anyone has done it, and if there are any vexing errors that can be made.

Pretty good coverage of it in the service manual. There are three different clocksprings, depending on how the truck is equipped.

Gordon I hope you aren't a preview of coming events for my truck. Your front end had to done then mine had the same problem. So now do I wonder if my spring will be sprung? ha ha. Hope it's not as traumatic to replace as going through the front axle.
